Getting Married in Dürnstein

Many couples come to Dürnstein to get married at the registry office. Not only is the romantic scenery in Dürnstein ideal for an unforgettable wedding day, but the picturesque Town Hall also adds a magical flair to the event.   

Marriage ceremonies are held in the registry office at the Town Hall from Monday to Saturday, between 10:00am and 3:00pm (except on holidays). 

Marriage ceremonies outside of the Dürnstein Town Hall are generally possible, but need to be arranged in cooperation with the local registrar. Weddings are also possible at the following places:     

• On the terrace or within the Kellerschlössel (wine cellar) of Domäne Wachau (The Domain Wachau).
• In the library at the Hotel Schloss Dürnstein
• In the Festival Room or the Artist Room at the Dürnstein Abbey
• in the rosegarden of Winery Brustbauer in Oberloiben 
• in the vineyards of Winery Simon Gattinger

Organisational issues concerning a wedding should be arranged directly with the owners or the managers of the relevant location of the ceremony.  

For an appointment for your wedding outside of the Town Hall, please contact the local registrar of Dürnstein as well as the owner or leaseholder of the preferred location.

We are sorry and request your understanding when reservations for weddings outside of Town Hall are rejected due to appointment bottlenecks. Compliance with the decree of the Office of the Lower Austrian Government from 8 March 2007 is required for a wedding outside of the Town Hall.
